水になれ

心を空（から）にしろ　形を取り去れ　型を捨てろ　水のように

カップに水をそそげば、水はカップの形になる

ボトルに水をそそげば、ボトルの形になる

ティーポットに水をそそげば、ティーポットの形になる

そして水は流れることも、ものを碎いたり壊したりもできる

彼のこのメッセージは「順応性、柔軟性を持て」という意味です。私が撮影している多重露光は、見たままの光景を写すのではなく、目の前にある光景を借りて私が思い描いた世界を表現しています。形あるものは変形させ、そこにあるはずがないものを配置し、足し算と引き算を考える。 それは水が様々な形に変容するように。

私は写真を写しているのではなく絵を描いているのです。と、思っています。しかし、カメラとフィルムを使っている以上、仕上がるものは間違いなく写真です。ただ、ファインダーを覗いてもその仕上がりは見えません。ファインダーは私にとってキャンバス。目の前の光景は形を変えられるパズルの1ピースとして、 ファインダーというキャンバスに当てはめ完成図を創造するのです。 

 つまらない固定概念と対峙し水のような”したたかさ”でこれからも作品作りを していきたいと思うのです。 

Be Water

Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless – like water. 

Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, 

you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, 

you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. 

Now water can flow or it can crash.

“His message means ‘adapt and be flexible.’ The multiple exposures I shoot don’t capture the scene as it appears, but rather use the scene in front of me to express the world I envision. I transform tangible shapes, place objects where they shouldn’t exist, and consider both addition and subtraction. Just as water takes on different forms.

I believe I’m not just taking photos, but painting pictures. Yet, since I’m using a camera and film, what I ultimately create is undoubtedly a photograph. However, even when I look through the viewfinder, I can’t see the final outcome. For me, the viewfinder is like a canvas. The scene in front of me is just one puzzle piece that can be reshaped, and I use it to create the final image on the viewfinder canvas.

I want to continue creating works by confronting boring fixed ideas with the resilience and fluidity of water.”
