Vol.37 新写真集「Resonance – 響 -」出版に向けて①

2026年11月下旬を目標に、新しい写真集「Resonance – 響 -」を233PRESSより出版することになりました。まだ少し先の話ではありますが、このブログでは制作の過程や背景を、少しずつお伝えしていきます。完成に向かう流れも含めて楽しんでいただけたら嬉しいです。

これまでの写真集について

これまでに、私は3冊の写真集を出版してきました。

• 2018年「Inception」（バッファロープレス）
• 2019年「X-ing」（233PRESS）
• 2023年「Mission」（233PRESS）

いずれもフィルムカメラによる多重露光作品を収録した写真集です。装丁や紙質、印刷の質感にまでこだわって制作してきたことで、展示やイベント、オンライン販売のいずれにおいても高い評価をいただいてきました。また、これらと並行してZINEの制作・販売も行っており、現在では7種類まで展開しています。それぞれの詳細はこちらからご覧ください。

多重露光という表現の深化

それぞれの写真集やZINEには、明確なコンセプトがあります。多重露光の撮影を始めてから約16年。当初は実験的な表現としての側面が強かったこの技法も、今では意図を持って構築する表現へと変化してきました。一枚一枚の写真に意味とストーリーを宿す——
その積み重ねが、現在の作品につながっています。

多重露光の“集大成”として

今回の写真集「Resonance – 響 -」は、これまで展開してきた複数のコンセプトを“カテゴリー”として再編集し、一冊にまとめた作品になります。いわば、私の多重露光作品の“オールアバウト”ともいえる内容です。収録予定のカテゴリーは以下の4つです：

• X-ing
  　クロスプロセス現像（カラー）× 多重露光
• Coexistence
  　モノクロによる多重露光
• Magritte on Film
  　マグリットの影響を受けたカラー多重露光
• Be Water
  　モネ作品のような池を舞台にしたカラー多重露光

それぞれ異なるアプローチでありながら、すべてが“多重露光”という軸で共鳴し合う構成です。

タイトルに込めたもの

今回のタイトルは
「Resonance – 響 -」
この言葉に込めた意味については、次回のブログで詳しくお話しします。作品同士がどのように響き合い、そして見る人の中でどんな余韻を生むのか —— その核心に触れていきます。

Vol.37 Toward the Publication of My New Photobook “Resonance” ①

I’m excited to announce that my new photobook, “Resonance”, is scheduled for publication by 233PRESS in late November 2026.
Although the release is still some months away, I’ll be sharing the process and background of this project step by step here on the blog. I hope you’ll enjoy following the journey as it unfolds.

My Previous Photobooks

So far, I have published three photobooks:

• Inception (2018, Buffalo Press)
• X-ing (2019, 233PRESS)
• Mission (2023, 233PRESS)

All of them feature multiple exposure works created with film cameras. Each book was carefully crafted with great attention to detail—from the binding design to the choice of paper—resulting in consistently positive responses wherever they have been presented and sold.
Alongside these publications, I have also been producing and releasing ZINEs, which have now grown into a series of seven titles.

The Evolution of My Multiple Exposure Practice

Each photobook and ZINE is built upon a clear conceptual foundation. It has been about 16 years since I began working with multiple exposure photography. What started as an experimental approach has gradually evolved into a more intentional and structured form of expression.
Today, each image carries its own concept and narrative—an accumulation of ideas that shape the work as a whole.

A Comprehensive Body of Work

My upcoming photobook “Resonance” brings together several of my established concepts, reorganized into distinct categories within a single volume.
In many ways, it will serve as an “all-about” collection of my multiple exposure work.

The book will feature the following four categories:

• X-ing
  Cross-processed color film combined with multiple exposure
• Coexistence
  Multiple exposure in black and white
• Magritte on Film
  Color multiple exposure inspired by the works of René Magritte
• Be Water
  Color multiple exposure set around water landscapes, inspired by the atmosphere of Monet’s paintings

Each category represents a different approach, yet all resonate through the common language of multiple exposure.

The Meaning Behind the Title

The title of this photobook is: “Resonance”
